There are many stories to tell about Pelle. About sail racing around the world, the tireless work of a Swedish investment in the America's Cup and his award-winning designs for cars and boats. Total devotion has always been a thread running through everything Pelle takes on and has just given him a place of honour in sailing's Hall of Fame.
Sailing legend and style icon
Most people know Pelle as one of the world's top sailors and a man with a sense of style. Not nearly as many know that he was actually trained as a designer at Pratt in New York. Pelles designs include the award-winning classic Volvo P1800 and Maxi and Nimbus Boats. He worked as a designer and product designer alongside his sailing career.
America's Cup
2013 is not the first time Pelle Petterson has been involved in the America's Cup challenge. Both in 1977 and 1980, Pelle skippered the challenger yacht "Sverige", which he also designed. "Sverige" made it to the challenge final against "Australia", which then lost to the USA.
