Swedish youth sailor set sail for America’s Cup

A few days ago Artemis Racing announced that Charlie Ekberg will join Artemis Racing White during the America’s Cup World Series in Naples, Italy. Charlie is one of Sweden’s leading 49er helmsman and the move from Artemis Racing marks their investment in the next generation of America’s Cup sailors and Swedish

We wish you a White Christmas and an Exiting New Year!
At Pelle P, “Holiday Season” means ski holiday. Equipped with our latest, technical skiing gear, we’ll keep our fingers crossed that Santa brings a gigantic sack full of soft powder snow for Christmas. This year we’re looking forward to New Years Eve more than ever before.

2013 promises to be a truly exiting year for us at Pelle P, with the America’s Cup final in San Francisco as the indisputable highlight. Artemis Racing is now heading into the last few critical months of sailing and testing, before the America’s Cup action kicks off with the Louis Vuitton Cup Challenger Series next summer. Follow the team’s preparations here.

Meet Mathieu Bozzetto

Nickname: Bombastic or Bozz

Born: In neighbouring Chambery, but has always lived in Val d’Isère Profession: Professional snowboarder who won most World Cup honours for France and an Olympic bronze in the parallel giant slalom in 2010. He currently works at promoting Val d’Isère, is an expert commentator on various sports channels and has helped snowboard manufacturers in designing new equipment.

Background: Mathieu, just like all the other youngsters in Val d’Isère, started with alpine skiing. By the time he was 17 he was bored with skiing and started snowboarding, which had just become a trendy sport.

Family: Mother, father and sister in Val d’Isère. Happily single with a 10 year-old son, Camille, who lives in the south of France most of the year with his mother. Secret talent: Is good at carpentry and building.

Secret dream: To be a “high-level” surfer. Apart from snowboarding? Kite surfing, mountain hiking, golf, sports in general. What’s the best thing about Val d’Isère? That it has everything for a sporty lifestyle all year round. Skiing, hiking, mountain biking, swimming pools, climbing, golf and fishing nearby etc. There is also a good selection of shops, restaurants, bars and nightlife.

Best run? Depends on what type of skiing you like. The Val d’Isère runs provide something for all kinds of skiers.

Best off-piste? Difficult to choose, it depends on where the snow is good.

Best restaurant? Le Lodge, renowned for its excellent meat. It’s situated on a side street after the first round-about in the heart of the village.

Best bar? Bar des Fous in the village, relaxed and cosy with live concerts at weekends.

Best memory of his career? Without doubt the bronze medal at the Vancouver Olympics in 2010 and the reception received when 3,000 supporters got together to celebrate the performance.

What makes good skiwear? Specially selected technical materials that work well and are well-designed of course. You can’t get away with just one item of clothing, you need different clothes for different kinds of skiing.

What does True Experience mean to you? Always being able to enjoy life to the full and making the right choices. It might be walking in the mountains with my father or going fishing with my son.

Big mountain 2012

We got some exciting friday news for you! We at Pelle P is a proud sponsor of Kajsa Regnér a 23 year old skier from Gothenburg. Kajsa will compete in the Scandinavian Big Mountain Championships starting 15th of May. Hosting ski area for the event is Riksgränsen. Follow Kajsa's adventure here on the blog and on our facebook.

Pelle P - Look of the week 19

Sailing season is here! But we are still a few weeks away from the warm breezes of summer. This week our model is wearing a pair of sporty, yet elegant, Carlin trousers in colour white, a preppy 1932 Polo in colour Misty rose and a our version of a timeless classic, a Dock Skipper jacket in DK Navy blue.

Rainbow sails again – Pelle P proud clothing supplier

After 78 years the famous J-Class yacht ‘Rainbow’ sails again. This replica of the America’s Cup winner from 1934 was built by Holland Jachtbouw in Zaandam. Rainbow will take part in the J-Class races held in England between June/July and Pelle P is proud clothing supplier of the race team.

Look of the week - week 16

True Experience - Lapland

A couple of weeks ago our friend and filmmaker Ben McIntire from New York took the night train from Gothenburg, 18 hours later and -20 degrees colder he arrived in Gasa, Arjeplog. Harsh weather conditions need clothes that matches, we gave him the super warm Attelas jacket which is from our forthcoming winter collection. In return we got this really cool shots below.
